The Snow Fairy Answered

Queenstown looks breathtaking now that is has snow and a few of us from Rydges Queenstown have hit the slopes recently for an afternoon of snowboarding on Coronet Peak – it seems everyone had the same idea!

We’re in the thick of School holidays here in New Zealand so we have a great deal on with kids dining free (with paying adults) at Ben Lomond Restaurant. Parents, check out our great bar specials at Inigo Bar which change daily and free ‘Spider’ drinks for your kids when they dine on the Kids Menu over the holiday period.
Inigo is toasty warm and has to be the perfect place to relax après ski. We also have some great school holiday packages going at the moment, please contact our reservations team and they can tailor a package to suit you.

So now there are half melted snow men lying around and it’s so picturesque - I adore being in this place everyday as it’s just so beautiful!!!

Plenty of our guests at the moment are here for the snow. It’s great to everyone is walking around in ski gear, looking warm and cosy with excited looks on their faces. Feedback from all the guests that have gone up there is that the quality of the snow is well worth the wait in the long lines on the really busy days.

Stunning view from Coronet Peak
I myself am looking forward to going night boarding. I have never tried it before so hopefully it will be an interesting experience with the benefit of fewer crowds. The ski fields are open late Friday and Saturday nights from 4pm until 9pm (weather & conditions permitting). Watch this space and hopefully I will have some great photos from the chair lift of the sun setting!

Rydges Queenstown offers a pre-booked door to door service to the Remarkables or Coronet Peak for $24 per person. Two buses go to Coronet in the morning and one to Remarkables. They leave from town on a regular basis and I would highly recommend this mode of transport. Our Concierge can recommend the best equipment hire options for you. We even have a coffee machine set up in the foyer, so while you wait for your ride you can enjoy or take a coffee away with you for only $2.50.

We always have Happy Hour here from 5pm till 6pm. Now with winter here the bar will be open from 4pm. As soon as people get back from the snow we can cater your every need with great meal deals and drink specials.
